Does it actually protect me in a crash?

No, and we won't pretend it does. WETLINE is a rain over-shell, built to go over your armored jacket or under it as a mid-layer. Keep your armor on. This is the layer that keeps you dry and makes sure cars see you.

How fast does it change colour, and does it go back?

The pink shows the second water hits the fabric and spreads with the rain. As it dries it fades back to solid black, usually within an hour off the bike. It's a reversible reaction, not a dye, so you get the change every ride.

Is it actually waterproof or just water-reactive?

The shell has a water-repellent outer and sealed zips. It keeps you dry through city rain and a highway downpour. It is not a dive suit, so in hours of standing rain a base layer under it is smart, same as any rain shell.

What size do I get if I'm wearing it over armor?

Order your normal jacket size to wear it as a layer. If you'll wear it over a full armored jacket or want room to layer, go one size up. The size guide lists chest and sleeve in centimetres so you can measure a jacket you already own.

Does sweat or humidity set it off?

No. It reacts to liquid water on the surface, not moisture in the air. Riding in humidity keeps it black. Rain, spray or a puddle turns it.

How WETLINE Works

The black outer layer is a water-reactive ink printed over a hot pink base. Dry, it's solid black. When a raindrop hits, the ink turns clear right where it landed and the pink shows through. Light drizzle gives you spots and drips. A downpour lights up the whole jacket.Let it dry and it goes back to black. Nothing to reset, nothing to charge. It works every time it gets wet.Black when it's dry so you keep your look. Hi-vis the second it rains, when drivers are looking the least.Care: machine wash cold, no fabric softener, hang dry.

    Lit up before the exit

Got caught in a full-on Houston downpour on the 610 last week and this thing lit up blue before I even hit the exit. Cars were actually giving me room for once. Wore it over my mesh jacket, zero issues, dried back to black by the time I got home. Lowkey the best $80 I've spent on gear.

    Only where the rain hit

Rode to my unit in light drizzle and it only spotted pink where the drops actually hit, which is somehow cooler than the full change. Fits over my armor without looking bulky and the hood goes under my lid. My bf ordered one the same night after seeing it. No way I'm riding in the rain in plain black again.

    Whole crew was staring

Waited out a storm under 285 and the whole crew was staring at my jacket instead of the rain. Every drop shows up, then it goes back to black like nothing happened. Packs down in my backpack so it's always on the bike. If you ride in the South you already know why you need this.
